“To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die” – Thomas Campbell
Former Little Silver resident, Maureen Canzoneri, more recently of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Jan. 1. She was 90.
Maureen was born on July 7, 1931, in Bronx, New York, to James Neary and Laura Bridget O’Donnell Neary. After completing high school in the Bronx, Maureen had a brief career as a runway fashion model in Manhattan before going on to become an administrative assistant working for Holt Construction Corporation and Sharp Electronics.
She married her first husband, Arthur Seitter, in 1955 and they lived in Yonkers, NY and Emerson, NJ with their two children. In 1972, Maureen met, and married Thomas Canzoneri “and they shared 50 years of happiness and companionship.”
Maureen was predeceased by: her parents; her husband, Thomas; her son, Arthur Seitter; and her son-in-law William Riker.
She is survived by: her daughter, Margaret Seitter Riker; her daughter-in-law, Ellen Seitter; her grandchildren, Katherine, John and Edward Riker, and Olivia Seitter; and her great-granddaughter Josephine DeFlumeri. She is also survived by Thomas’ son, Kevin Canzoneri.
A mass of christian burial will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 10 a.m. at The Church of the Nativity, 180 Ridge Rd, Fair Haven. For those who wish to attend, the burial will follow mass at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
