Helping the Anderson Family Get by with Help from RFH Friends

The Anderson children

Buff Anderson was a popular longtime Rumsonite and Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) 1984 graduate who was known for his zest for life and love of family and friends.

So when his live-for-today life was abruptly cut short at 57 with all prospects of tomorrows gone on Oct. 9, it left his family in a state of shock, grief and fiscal distress. His three children, Buff Jr., Jimmy and Grace, and their mom, RFH grad Liz Boyle Anderson, found themselves thrust into a dire position, hating to ask, but needing help from friends.

And then one of those friends, Maureen Frank, offered that help without question by setting up a GoFundMe page to benefit the Anderson family in the wake of Buff’s sudden death.

Buff Anderson

Buff, she said in the GoFundMe narrative, “has left behind his three children, two of which are still in school and need full financial support. Liz has been left to support them on her own after recently leaving her job to go back to school. The cost of food alone in these times is a challenge and if we can help Liz with the extra expenses and relieve some stress and financial burden, that was be an amazing blessing to her during this really tragic time.”

Frank has been a friend of Liz’s for decades, since high school at RFH. They were 1987 grads. Buff and Liz having been longtime Rumsonites, and Frank a longtime Fair Havenite, Frank has seen how the Rumson-Fair Haven area community has rallied to help friends in need and crisis. She is calling upon that generosity and love of community to help a family of its own.

Our community has rallied many times and been so amazing for our local friends and family members,” Frank said. “We are hopeful you all will donate for this great lady who has already endured more than most of us can imagine.”

And every little bit will help, Frank added, saying that if you cannot afford to help with a donation, prayers, love and healing energy will be felt.

So far, donations have reached $4,555 of a $50,000 goal. Reaching at least 10 percent of the goal for now is what Frank thinks is attainable. The GoFundMe will remain up and running for those who must wait to donate. Frank thanks the community in which she and Liz grew up and cherish in advance.
