It’s summertime in post-pandemic times and DWI checkpoints are operating every weekend in Monmouth County. This weekend, there are two set to run from 10 p.m. Friday through 2 a.m. on Sunday. The first, and closest to the Rumson-Fair Haven area, is set to start late tonight in Shrewsbury. The second will be set on Saturday in Wall Township.

On Friday, July 14, in Shrewsbury …
The checkpoint will run from 10 p.m. on Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday. All vehicles headed southbound on Route 35 will be diverted into the Avenue of the Commons shopping center where Monmouth County DWI Task Force members and local police will screen drivers for sobriety.
On Saturday, July 15, in Wall Township …
The checkpoint will run from 10 p.m. on Saturday through 2 a.m. on Sunday. All vehicles headed west on Route 138 will be diverted at Maxell Road where DWI Task Force members with local police will screen drivers for sobriety.
