The four-day Fourth of July weekend is approaching and The Monmouth County DWI Task Force has announced a DWI checkpoint for the day after the Fourth and heading into the weekend. The DWI Task Force has also advised that there will be extra “roving patrols” throughout the holiday weekend.
The DWI Checkpoint Details
On Friday, July 5, in Wall Township …
From 10 p.m. on Friday, July 5 to 2 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, all vehicles headed westbound on Route 138 will be diverted onto Maxwell Road,. There, drivers will be screened by Task Force members and Wall police for sobriety.
Roving Patrols for Fourth of July Weekend
From The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office …
The Task Force will also be coordinating with several municipal police agencies in organizing roving patrols on Saturday night, July 6, in an overarching effort to reduce the incidence of impaired driving — a particular imperative for the Fourth of July weekend, when, historically, the number of DWI arrests increases.
