The chill in the dank spring air today prompts wishful thinking of beach days to come in the Rumson-Fair Haven area. The weather forecasts hold some promise of warmth budding in the rest of the week.
So, the Retro Pic(s) of the (George) Day offers two views of a scene you’ve seen around the archives before … a classic. It takes us back to the 1970s when some RFH freshmen got all gussied up in their mothers’ outdated — hopefully not current — beachwear for a faux day at the beach, on stage, and did a little dance to The Beach Boys’ Girls on the Beach.
We think there are a few guys mixed in with the girls here in this shot of the RFH Class of 1978’s Freshmen Follies. Who they are, we can’t hazard a guess because of those beautiful outfits and sunglasses. Sorry, senior moment memory is kicking in — and not high school senior, either.
They sure are something to see, though, aren’t they? And they give us a little hope that warm weather lies ahead and definitely something to smile about on a dismal day!
Just beachy, right?
Who are these ladies in waiting … for a good beach day?

Many thanks, again, to George Day for this stylish, entertaining look back at RFH days of the past!
