Prosecutor: Man Gets Life Plus 35 Years for Bias-Motivated Murder of Photojournalist, EMS Volunteer

The man who attacked and killed a stranger to him, photojournalist Jerry Wolkowitz, in a Freehold Township parking lot nearly five years ago has been sentenced to life in prison plus an additional 35 years for Wolkowitz’s bias-motivated murder, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced on Wednesday.

Prosecutor: 30-Year-Old Man Found Guilty of 2018 Bias-Driven Murder of Longtime Area Photo Journalist, EMS Volunteer

A 30-year-old man has been found guilty of murder, bias intimidation and related charges in connection with the 2018 random attack and killing of a stranger solely because of the victim’s race, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced on Friday.

Prosecutor: Man Facing Attempted Murder, Bias Intimidation Charges in Beating of Photojournalist

Asbury Park Press freelance photographer and former staff photographer with Greater Media Newspapers, Jerry Wolkowitz, remains in critical condition as a man who allegedly beat him and then drove over him has been charged with attempted murder, bias intimidation and related charges stemming from a May 1 incident,  Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said.
