A Long Branch man convicted last year of locking an 8-month-old pit bull puppy in a small wire cage and leaving that cage in the rising tide of the Sandy Hook Bay was sentenced on Friday to a year in prison, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said.

Prosecutor: Man Convicted in 2018 Animal Cruelty Case

Prosecutor: Man Charged with Attempted Dog Drowning Jailed Until Trial
Aaron D. Davis, who was arrested last week for attempting to drown a caged dog in Highlands, was ordered to remain in jail pending trial by Monmouth County Superior Court Judge James J. McGann.
