A reprise to take the chill out of the air with some warm friendship and fun among RFH guys back in the day …
Like the song goes, some may say the weather outside is getting downright frightful. Others, like a few RFH guys of the 1970s, may call it delightful.
Well, it’s clear that these guys in the Retro Pic of the (George)Day weren’t afraid of a little cold snap by the sea. If fact, they were all in and ready for a little surfing — or at least pretending.
The outfits certainly didn’t lend themselves to water sports in the cold. But, hey, they were all RFH style — down vests and jackets, ski jackets (even if you didn’t ski, they were a must) duck boots, sweaters … shorts?
Now, who remembers who these surfin’ fool dudes are? And, why is it that Jamie Blake is being toted around like either Cleopatra or someone’s crazy uncle doing a stand-up Hora act at a Jewish wedding?
Either way, they definitely had fun and forged lifetime friendships that began mostly before, but certainly during and after this one chilly, warm and sweet like cocoa snapshot in time.
Thanks again to the incomparable George Day for capturing this RFH memory on film!
