A classic reprise … just because we’re all about playing that field at RFH. Did they need drive? Well, they had it here in the most classic 70s form ...
Fall is football time … until it’s a wrap and winning RFH players go on to state championship games. And when the home game is over and the coldest of cold snaps hits, it’s bundle-up-and-ride-with-it-time. After all, sometimes it’s not all about the game for spirited RFHers.
Call it a level playing field for driving it all home. Drive is what this RFHer did back in the late 1970s. It was a classic moment when all who were freezing in the stadium and alongside the field got warmed up to the prospect of a joy ride onto the field — or something. As if the game wasn’t enough.
Likely, it wasn’t. Not for this crew of RFH misadventurists who thrived on the unexpected skewing that status quo. So, a joy ride by or on the field was the misadventure of the day.
And, decades later, the coolness of the weather and the antic creators serve as a warm reminder that there’s always a quirky memory in our RFH annals. Always at least one to take that chill out.
So, chill out, warm up, smile and look back with us to this Retro Pic of the (George) Day.
Just who are those groupies by the car? We know that it’s Ray Francis from the RFH Class of ’78 driving, but what kind of car is that? Can you caption this one?
Many thanks, once again, to the incredible George Day for this classic retro pic!
