It may not be football season; but, between all the recent loss, pandemic surge and chill in the air, we could all use a good old fashioned team cheer — shoulder-to-shoulder close.
So, the Retro Pic of the Day takes us back to 1975 and those RFH Varsity Cheerleaders of the kilt, knee sock and saddle shoe kind. One knee up on any situation needing a cheer, these girls were always ready for some shouting, stomping, clapping, cartwheels and pompoms.
We’re all in the game. We just need to know someone’s in our corner in bleak times. And those RFH cheerleaders and their simple, old time ways work just fine.
Just one look back is enough of a reminder that a little purple- and white-laced Bulldog cheer is just what the melancholia doc ordered. Getting those pompoms moving and feet stomping will turn the ol’ frown upside down on the coldest of days and moments.
So, think back … What was your favorite, most simple cheer of yesteryear? Remember it? Move?
