A Monmouth County grand jury has returned an indictment against a Monmouth County teen charged in connection with gun shots being fired in the city earlier this year. If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said.

Dyquan P. Young, 18, of Asbury Park, has been charged in the indictment with second-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, and third-degree hindering the apprehension of another.

The charges stem from an incident in the vicinity of Prospect and Mattinson avenues in Asbury, where shots were fired in February. The incident did not result in any injuries, but prompted an investigation.
