An Ocean Township man has been charged with attempted murder and weapons offenses in connection with a shooting incident on Easter Sunday, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced on Tuesday.
Tanner Koch, 26, of Oakhurst, has been charged with one count of first-degree attempted murder, one count of second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and one count of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
Koch was arrested and charged on Monday, April 22, following an investigation that began on early Sunday evening, April 21.
At 5:07 p.m., Ocean Township police responded to a 911 call at 330 Elberon Avenue in Oakhurst for shots fired. Officers made contact with the victim who made the 911 call.
The investigation determined that after a dispute with the victim, Koch fired several rounds at the victim’s vehicle and at the victim as he ran away. Koch turned himself in to Ocean Township Police Department on Monday evening.
He is being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold.
