A former area man has been indicted on 2023 charges of sexual assault he allegedly committed against two pre-teens more than 20 years ago, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Julia Alonso announced on Monday.
Robert L. Wisiak, 45, formerly of Keansburg and now of South River, was indicted the charges of two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault. Aggravated sexual assault involves penetration.
Wisiak was originally arrested by members of the Keansburg Police Department on Friday, Oct. 20, 2023.
An investigation revealed that the sexual assaults by Wisiak upon the victim, who was a minor under the age of 13 at the time, took place on multiple occasions between the years of 1999 and 2001.
After his initial arrest, a second victim came forward. That victim was allegedly sexually assaulted during the same time frame and was also a minor under the age of 13 at the time of the attacks.
Convictions of this nature are commonly punishable by terms of up to 20 years in a state prison, along with being subject to the provisions of Megan’s Law registration and parole supervision for life.
Authorities are seeking additional information about Wisiak’s activities. Anyone with information is being asked to contact Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Charles Trucillo at 800-533-7443 or Keansburg Police Department Detective Thomas Sheehan at 732-787-0600.
