A fatal shooting that took place in Long Branch earlier today, Sunday, is under joint investigation by members of the MCPO Major Crimes Bureau and the Long Branch Police Department, according to a released statement from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

The incident took place around noon on Garrett Drive, within the John R. Lewis Commons housing complex. The victim, a male resident of Long Branch, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead this afternoon.
