Prosecutor: Area Physical Therapist Charged with Illegal Sexual Contact with Employees

A Monmouth County physical therapist has been arrested and charged with illegal sexual contact in connection with incidents involving two former employees, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced on Thursday.

Lukas I. DeLorenzo, 35, of Neptune Township, is charged with fourth-degree sexual contact based on alleged inappropriate sexual touching of both victims over a period of time beginning around September 2019.

The charges stem from incidents in which DeLorenzo, under the guise of teaching treatment methods, would allegedly inappropriately touch and grope these employees, both at his office in Manasquan and in another location in Brielle. The investigation is being conducted jointly by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO) Special Victim’s Bureau, and the Manasquan and Brielle police departments.

If convicted of sexual contact, DeLorenzo could face a sentence on each count of up to 18 months in state prison.

Investigators are seeking additional information about DeLorenzo’s activities and are concerned about the potential for additional victims. Anyone with additional information is urged to call MCPO Detective Jose Rodriguez at 732-431-7160, extension 7172, or Detective Kenneth Hamill of the Manasquan Police Department at 732-223-1000, extension 226.

Anyone who feels the need to remain anonymous, but has information about a crime can contact Monmouth County Crime Stoppers confidential telephone tip-line by calling 1-800-671-4400; can text “MONMOUTH” plus their tip to 274637; or, they can email a tip via the website at www.monmouthcountycrimestoppers.com.  Monmouth County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of criminals and fugitives.
