Police Report: Theft & Criminal Mischief

The following September criminal incidents were reported by Red Bank police:

• A theft was reported on Sept. 30. It was reported that a gold iPhone, valued at $400, was stolen from an unattended purse at a business on Monmouth Street.

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported on Sept. 25. It was reported that a canopy on the outside of an East Front Street building was reportedly bent and ripped. The damages were estimated at roughly $500.

Patrolman Benjamin Springer took the report.

• A theft was reported on Sept. 22. It was reported that items were stolen from a vehicle on Central Avenue that was towed from a motor vehicle accident. Reported stolen were: a Garmin GPS, valued at $100, a red Maxi scan OBD II Code reader, valued at $25, $15 worth of loose coins and a gray gym bag containing martial Arts gear,  valued at $500.

• A theft was reported on Sept. 20. It was reported that a metal and glass porch dining table and four green and white striped chairs, value at $175, were stolen from the front of a business.

• A theft was reported on Sept. 18. It was reported that an unlocked vehicle parked int he area of Manor Drive was broken into. A brown Lucky bag, valued at $25, several credit cards, check book, a vehicle registration, insurance cards and a flash drive, valued at $18, were reported stolen.

• A theft was reported on Sept. 18. It was reported that two unlocked vehicles were broken into in the area of West Street. One vehicle appeared to be ransacked and the center console and glove box were open. A white auxiliary cord was taken and a black cell phone was found on the front seat. Missing from the second vehicle was a black Target cloth bag worth $10, a NJ driver’s license, several credit cards, and Calvin Klein prescription sunglasses worth $400.

• A theft was reported on Sept. 18. It was reported that an exterior gray/black Trane AC/heating unit, valued at $3,000, was stolen from the property and put into a white truck which caused damage to a fence. The unit was reported stolen by a black male, approximately 35 years old, with a tall, thick build and bald head or short hair.  The driver of the truck was described as a Hispanic female, 20 to 30 years old, with a thin build and long black hair.

• An theft was reported on Sept. 11. It was reported that an unlocked vehicle on Newman Springs roach was broken into and $20 and loose change were missing from the console.

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported on Sept. 11. It was reported that $1,500 to $2,000 worth of damage was done to a hotel room in the area of Bodman Place with multiple holes found in the walls, damage to a TV cabinet and a broken coffee maker.

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported on Sept. 11. It was reported that a building’s front steel door was damaged and pulled from the hinges.

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported on Sept. 9. It was reported that a fence and brick work at a residence were damaged, possibly by a vehicle.

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported on Sept. 4. Police responded to an alarm at a vacant building in the area of West Front and found the front door ajar and its wood frame partially splintered. The estimated damage was $800.

• An incident of criminal mischief was reported on Sept. 2. All four tires of a vehicle parked in the area of Locust Avenue were slashed.
