The following recent criminal incidents and arrests were reported by Shrewsbury police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.
Criminal Incidents
• There was a report of a theft in the area of World Jeep, Shrewsbury Avenue, on May 14. The victim reported that vehicle parts, valued at $3,250 were stolen from the premises.
Patrolman Mary Ellen Rumola is investigating.
• There was a report of a theft in the area of Panera Bread, Broad Street, on May 17. The victim reported that a wallet, cash and credit cards were removed from her purse.
Detective Sgt. James Ramsey is investigating.
• There was a report of a theft in the area of Constitution Drive on May 19. The victim reported that someone stole packages from a porch. Damages were estimated at $100.
Patrolman Ryan Cullinane is investigating.
• There was a report of a theft in the area of Saks Off Fifth, Broad Street, on May 20. The victim reported that one known and two unknown persons stole merchandise valued at $2,525.
Niles Weston, 40, of Brooklyn, NY, was later arrested and charged by Patrolman Daniel DeCristofaro.
Arrests
• Jordan A. Harris, 27, of Fair Haven, was arrested on May 18 in the area of Broad Street and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) by Patrolman Tyler Fox.
• Amanda Kernahan, 45, of Red Bank, was arrested in the area of Sycamore Avenue on May 15 on a contempt of court (COC) warrant by Patrolman Joseph Barnicle.
• Taabef A. Smith, 25, of Asbury Park, was arrested on May 17 in the area of Sycamore Avenue on a contempt of court (COC) warrant by patrolman Mary Ellen Rumola.
