Police Report Arrests on Drugs, Theft, Burglary, Leaving Scene of Fatal Accident

The following recent arrests were made and reported by Middletown police. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

• Brian Kavanagh, 49, of Swimming River Road in Colts Neck, was arrested on July 14 by Patrolman Ryan Riffert and charged with disorderly conduct.

He was released pending a court date.

• On July 15, Patrolman Nicholas Haines arrested a 17-year-old male juvenile from Red Bank and charged him with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released pending a court date.

• On July 15, Patrolman Nicholas Haines arrested a 17-year-old male juvenile from Red Bank and charged him with possession of Psilocybin mushrooms.

He was released pending a court date.

• William McPartland, 59, of Oceanview Avenue in Keansburg, was arrested on July 15 by Patrolman Raymond Sofield and charged with driving while intoxicated.

He was released pending a court date.

• Toni Ann Marletta, 49, of Thompson Avenue in the Leonardo section of Middletown, was arrested on July 15 by Cpl. Thomas Russo and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident.

She was held on $150, 000 bail, set by Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Honora O’Brien-Kilgallen.

• Gary Smith, 52, of Butler Lane in Middletown, was arrested on July 16 by Patrolman John Mele and charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing the administration of law and resisting arrest.

He was released pending a court date.

• Reed Pilkinton, 50, of Sydney Avenue in Union Beach, was arrested on July 16 by Patrolman Daniel Benbrook and charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.

He was released pending a court date.

• Thomas Dimartini, 55, of Murray Court in the Lincroft section of Middletown, was arrested on July 16 by Patrolman Joshua Midose and charged with simple assault.

He was released after posting $500 bail, set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Morgan Jenkins, 29, of River Street in Red Bank, was arrested on July 19 by Patrolman Nicholas Haines and charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.

He was released pending a court date.

• Sunny Reid, 35, of Oak Hill Road in Red Bank, was arrested on July 19 by Patrolman Nicholas Haines and charged with shoplifting from the ShopRite store.

She was released pending a court date.

• Brandon Costello, 24, of Jackson Street in Keyport, was arrested on July 18 by Patrolman Greg Buhowski and charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of heroin and possession of a hypodermic syringe.

He was released after posting $5,000 bail with a 10 percent option set, by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Richard Morgan, 50, of Lakeside Drive in Middletown, was arrested on July 18 by Cpl. Richard Fusella and charged with simple assault.

He was released after posting $1,000 bail with a 10 percent option, set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• John Balzer, 27, of Cherry Tree Farm Road in Middletown, was arrested on July 17 by Patrolman Nicholas Haines and charged with  simple assault, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released after posting $9,000 bail, set by Judge Thompson.

• Jake Fay, 22, of Nut Swamp Road in Red Bank, was arrested on July 17 by Detective Kimberly Best and charged with burglary and theft.

He was released pending a court date.

• Christina Larocco, 28, of Port Monmouth Road in Middletown, was arrested on July 19 by Patrolman Frank Mazza and charged with simple assault.

She was held on $2,500 bail with a 10 percent option, set by Judge Richard Thompson.
