A bicyclist was killed in Middletown last night after being hit by a car, Middletown police said in a released statement.
At 9:21 p.m. on July 19, the statement said, police responded to the scene at the intersection of Route 35 and Chapel Hill Road, where the crash had occurred in the northbound lanes the highway.
The cyclist, Crystal Kaylor, 40, of Middletown, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, the statement added.
The as-of-yet unidentified driver of the vehicle that hit Kaylor remained on the scene, police added.
The crash investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Patrolman Michael Reuter of the MTPD Traffic Safety Unit at 732-615-2045.
