In Memoriam: Longtime Monmouth Beach Resident, Patrick Brennan, 86

Longtime Monmouth Beach resident, Patrick Brennan, “peacefully passed from this life” on Tuesday, Sept. 24. He was 86.

“Probably no one loved Monmouth Beach more than Patrick. He spent many days at the beach basking in the sun and swimming in the ocean. Sandy Hook was another special place for Patrick where he would drive with his wife observing the seasons …

“He could often be found on his home terrace reading and bantering with his neighbors. He was a loyal Yankees fan and never missed any opportunity to watch his favorite team. One of Patrick’s proudest achievements was running in and completing the New York City marathon in 1982 at the age of 44.

“Patrick was gregarious, social person who loved nothing more than gathering with his large family at each and every event imaginable. Patrick was proud of his 49-year association with Alcoholics Anonymous in which he unselfishly helped others to recover.”

A memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Precious Blood, 72 Riverdale Ave, Monmouth Beach. Burial will be private.
