It’s summertime and DWI checkpoints, run by the Monmouth County DWI Task Force and local police, are operating just about every weekend in Monmouth County.
This weekend, there are two set to run from 9 p.m. on Friday through 2 a.m. on Sunday in Sea Bright and Shrewsbury, respectively.

On Friday, Aug. 18, in Sea Bright …
From 9 p.m. on Friday to 1 a.m. on Saturday, vehicles headed north on Ocean Avenue will be diverted into Sea Bright Municipal Parking Lot where drivers will be screened for sobriety by Sea Bright police and Task Force members.
On Saturday, Aug. 19, in Shrewsbury …
From 10 p.m. on Saturday to 2 a.m. on Sunday, all vehicles headed south on Route 35 will be diverted into the Avenue of the Commons shopping center where drivers will be screened for sobriety by Task Force members and Shrewsbury police.
