Prosecutor: Area Man Found Guilty of Sexual Assault of Young Boys

An area man is facing up to 61 years in NJ state prison on sexual assault charges stemming from incidents spanning 2008 to 2009 involving preying on four young male video-gamers using an X-Box gaming system as a tool to sexually abuse the boys, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Prosecutor: Drug Distribution Ring Busted; 42 Arrested

A five-month undercover drug distribution investigation conducted by federal, state, county and local law enforcement agencies dubbed Operation Justice Served culminated in the arrest of 42 people within the past  month, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced on Thursday.

Prosecutor: Monmouth U ‘Gunman’ Arrested, Charged with Armed Robbery

A Monmouth University student is facing an armed robbery charge in connection to an incident on the campus Tuesday night, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced on Wednesday.

Keith L. Williams, 18, of Baltimore, Maryland, a student at the university, has been charged with first-degree armed robbery.

Area Man Faces Juvenile Luring Charges

A 24-year-old Middletown man has been arrested on charges in connection with the social media luring of a 14-year-old girl as authorities seek to identify other possible victims, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni announced in a released statement on Thursday.

Bryan W. Sanderson was arrested on Aug. 18 and charged with one count of second-degree luring a juvenile, two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and third-degree violation of parole supervision for life after he allegedly lured the teen girl via the social media meeting site Kik.

Prosecutor: Missing Woman Found Dead, Buried; Two Face Murder Charges

The prosecutors in Monmouth and Union counties jointly announced on Wednesday that an area man and woman have been charged with the murder of a Union County woman who went missing in March and was found, after an extensive search and investigation, to have been killed and buried in Long Branch.

Detectives on the night of Aug. 16 discovered the body of Tyrita R. Julius, 41, who has been missing since March 8, the authorities said.

Sea Bright DWI Checkpoint

Sea Bright police, in conjunction with the Monmouth County DWI Task Force, will hold a DWI checkpoint late Friday night into Saturday morning in Sea Bright.

Vehicles will be directed from the northbound lanes of Ocean Avenue into the Sea Bright Borough Parking Lot from 11 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday where drivers’ sobriety will be gauged, according to the Task Force.

 

Prosecutor: DNA Evidence Clears Area Man of Rape

The conviction of an area man Long Branch man, released from prison in 1997 after serving four years for the 1988 rape of a 17-year old girl, will be vacated, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced in a press release recently.

Sandy Hook Accident: Motorcyclist Medevaced

An accident at Sandy Hook’s Gunnison Beach parking lot on Thursday evening resulted in an as-of-yet unidentified motorcyclist being airlifted to the Trauma Unit at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, according to Sandy Hook Fire/Rescue.

In the collision of a car and motorcycle that occurred at about 6:30 p.m., the “rider of the cycle” was thrown off the bike and “unconscious with shallow breathing,” Sandy Hook Fire/Rescue’s post on Facebook said.

“Rangers on scene immediately called for mutual aid from Sea Bright First Aid,” it added.

The patient was stabilized for the flight.

There have been no updates on condition or further information.

In addition to the law enforcement rangers on Sandy Hook and Sea Bright Fire Rescue, Ocean Rescue and First Aid, Highlands Fire Department and Fire Police, MONOC, NorthStar & the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office Communications Division assisted at the scene.
