A classic reprise for some cheer, just because we’re warming up for spring fever …
That winter chill is still in the air. The beach is pretty barren. But thoughts of catching a wave into some forecasted spring weather tomorrow are with many in the Rumson-Fair Haven area.
So what better memories to share with the Retro Pic of the (George) Day than those that come with a surfing crew of RFH students in the 1970s.
These guys had a reputation for knowing how to have fun on and off a board. They also knew how to catch that wave of coolness and fun and sit on top of the world — or at least a surfboard.
This scene, caught by RFH grad George Day, shows them at Sea Bright Beach in not-so rare form.
It was a bit too chilly for a surf, so I’m guessing they took turns with one surfing at a time while the others acted as the wave — or not.
Fun times at RFH! Remember these guys?
