Two Motorcyclists Die in Rumson Accident
A man and woman were killed in a motorcycle accident in Rumson on Saturday evening, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced.
John J. Berry Jr., 29, of Atlantic Highlands, and his passenger, Stephanie Hogan 28, of Red Bank, were riding a 2018 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle westbound on Hartshorne Road at 7:20 p.m.. As they approached the intersection of Navesink Avenue, where Hartshorne Road becomes Ridge Road, they struck a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. Both riders were ejected from the motorcycle, sustained major injuries.
Berry and Hogan were pronounced dead at the scene at 8:02 p.m.
The driver of the Wrangler and one passenger, both minors, stopped and remained on scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, and Rumson Police Department and the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART).

Prosecutor: Police Officer Pleads Guilty to Harassment, Loses Job
A Long Branch police officer has pleaded guilty to harassment for offensively touching a woman who attended a police promotions party at a city bar back in February, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced on Thursday. As part of the plea he will lose his job and can never again work as a public servant in the state of New Jersey.
