Reprise from Aug. 23, 2022, because we’re having a July heat wave …
There’s nothing quite like sitting on the dock of the … river in Rumson. Though this was never seen as wasting time. Savoring it was more like it. Still is.
Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge replacement work is on its status quo schedule this week, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Friday Aug. 1, weather permitting. Specific construction scheduled for the week are listed below the travel advisory information.

No one was crabby about it, just fishing for some music. Call it a simple summer note of musical appreciation and RFH connection. An RFH Performing Arts Society mom took center dock to play to her own tune of musical talent with the Band of the Two Rivers on Wednesday.

Back in the day, Rumson summers weren’t all about going to the beach club from dawn ’til dusk.
For some, it was as simple skipping the packing up of the family, not to mention the cost, and just laying a blanket out on the lawn and catching some rays while the kids played.

It’s just plain campy! There’s nothing like a nice summer day replete with some bubble-blowing, power-posing, bathing suited, short-sporting kids on a mission to make some summer fun — at camp … or something like it.
Leave Lola and the Devil out of it. Whatever RFHers want, RFHers get …
And, back in the summer of ’75, they wanted summer stock theater. And they got it — a brutally fun load of it crammed into five dramatic dancing, singing, acting weeks among RFHers.

It’s the balloons. Yeah, the balloons are the dangerous party tools, not the girls. Yet, while it’s doubtful that anyone would call these “innocents” of the ’70s tools, it’s a sure bet that the combination of RFH girls could be dangerous — dangerously fun, that is.
Ahoy! Ship Ahoy, to locals beaching it back in the summer of ’63, that is.
Yes, it’s a locals’ summertime. Always has been. And the locals’ summer spots have always been a place of respite from the out-of-towner beach crowd in the Rumson-Fair Haven area. They call them beach clubs.

Fair Haven’s annual borough-wide campout may no longer be a summertime easy, sticky living event, but a first is always a warm memory. This one, back in 2013, was that first.
