Sometimes in the chill of the night, the way is lit toward the warmth of community.

That way was a serene solstice walking path lit on Sunday by the Fair Haven Fields Natural Area Committee and friends. The group took a little lantern-dotted serenity walk through the borough’s Natural Area, taking in the wooded nature, still of the night and sense of community on the winter solstice.

“It was the perfect close to a weekend filled with holiday spirit, as we celebrated the beauty of our land,” Mayor Josh Halpern said in a social media post, sharing photos (above). “Enjoy the extra light starting tomorrow!”
