Fair Haven Borough Council candidates will face off in a debate on Wednesday night.
The debate, hosted by the League of Women Voters of the Greater Red Bank Area, will be held at Bicentennial Hall, on Cedar Avenue in Fair Haven, from 7:30 to 9 p.m..
The four candidates running for two three-year term seats on council are: incumbent Republican council members Jonathan Peters and Jacquie Rice; and Democrat newcomer challengers Meghan Chrisner-Keefe and Michael “Mike” McCue.
The forum will open with statements from each of the candidates followed by a question and answer period, with questions submitted in writing and read by League moderator Sue Sferas.
The forum will include opening statements from the candidates, questions from the audience (submitted in writing and read by the moderator) and candidates’ closing statements. A trained moderator from outside of Fair Haven will preside, in accordance with the League policy.
The League of Women Voters of New Jersey, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
