Crime Close By: Theft, Criminal Mischief & Burglary

The following recent criminal incidents were reported by Red Bank police:

• There was a report of a burglary at a White Street business on March 16. An unknown person gained entry by prying a door open and reportedly stole approximately $200 in cash. Several coins and the cash register drawer were on the floor at the scene.

Patrolman Thomas Doremus took the report.

• There was a report of criminal mischief March 15 on Newman Springs Road. The victim reported that someone keyed his parked vehicle.

Patrolman Michael Zadlock took the report.

• There was a report of criminal mischief March 15 on Newman Springs Road. The victim reported that someone keyed his parked vehicle.

• There was a March 13 report of burglary and criminal mischief on Maple Avenue. The victim reported that someone gained entry into a penthouse and damaged the toilet so it would cause flooding.

• A theft was reported at Red Bank Train Station on March 12. The victim reported leaving a computer bag containing a MacBook Pro computer, on a bench prior to boarding train. When the victim returned to get it, it was gone.

• A theft was reported to have occurred on March 12 on West Bergen Place. The victim reported that while walking, he was approached by an unknown person who asked to borrow his cellphone. When the victim handed the white Samsung Gallery phone to the person, the suspect fled with it.
