Longtime Rumsonite, Rumson Country Day School and Oceanic Free Library board member and volunteer with many non-profits, Robert “Bob” Leonard Boyle Sr. passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 12 “amid the prayers of many.” He was 86.

Prosecutor: 14 Arrested, 2 Sentenced in Mass Social Media Child Sex Abuse Bust

A series of investigations led by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit and the Monmouth County Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force has resulted in the arrests of 14 men since January and two recent sentencings, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey announced on Thursday.

Prosecutor: Area 66-Year-Old Man Arrested, Charged in Alleged Attempt to Have Sexual Encounter with 13-Year-Old Girl

A collaborative investigation involving the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the FBI has resulted in the arrest of an area 66-year-old man on charges in connection with his alleged seeking of a sexual encounter with a 13-year-old girl, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey announced on Thursday.

Prosecutor: 86-Year-Old Man Gets Probation & Fine for 10-Year Criminal Sexual Contact with Child

An 86-year-old Deal man will spend the rest of his life as a registered sex offender under parole supervision after admitting to having had sexual contact with a child various times over the course of about a decade, starting about 25 years ago, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey announced on Wednesday.

Focus: RFH Class of ’77 Reunites in 45th

Well, the post-pandemic Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) reunions have been revived — with gusto.

There was a 39th recently. And the RFH Class of ’77 just celebrated its 45th. And by the looks of things, it was a festive night on July 30 at Salt Creek Grille for the main event. Of course, in the surrounding nights, there were some visits to other local RFHers’ haunts, like Barnacle Bill’s, for tradition’s sake.

Organizer Ed Apy sent some snapshots of many stellar moments.

Retro RFH Reunion Bridge Alert

Well, it’s a summer of revived RFH reunions and RFHers are embracing it by reuniting however and whenever they can to play catch up. One class even had a 39th.

As far as getting the word out, though, things have changed quite a bit since those first 10-year reunions for the classes of the 60s, 70s and even 80s and 90s and before. But, there’s one iconic mode of invite that has been missing for quite some time. The painting of the bridge!

There was a time when communication was limited to phone books, landline phones, snail mail and word of mouth. Of course, there were paper invites. But, there was nothing better than getting the word out by just reverting to old school days and painting that bridge.
