Call it a staged Bon Voyage! The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) Tower Players are about to set sail on the S.S. American in their production of Cole Porter’s classic golden age musical Anything Goes.
Dubbed “a true asset and valued member of our team at RFH,” Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) Athletic Trainer Alex Stein has been named the high school’s inaugural Educational Services Professional of the Year.
Rumson-Fair Haven (RFH) Regional High School’s Kali Lerner, Psychology teacher and advisor, has been named the high school’s Educator of the Year.
Still “imbibing and pursuing leisurely interests” after all these years. That would be the RFH Ladies of the Round Table. You’ve seen them before in a ’70s Retro Pic of the Day and they’ve been at it again “all these years” later — at a gathering in Delray Beach, FL.
No, it’s not the swim team.
This Retro Pic of the Day takes us back to a time at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) when taking a dip in the ocean at the chilliest of winter times was, well, very cool as a Polar Bear Club member. Yes, it was a club back then.
Have you heard? Probably. But this picture is worth a thousand RFH Bulldog cheers.
The snapshot, captured by RFH dad and Rumson Police Sgt. Bryan Dougherty, is all about seizing the moment of a historic win for the RFH Wrestling Team — one earlier this week that got the Dawgs a sectional title in the state’s Central Jersey Group 2 championship.
RFH beat the Point Pleasant Borough team, which was third-seeded, 66-13, getting its first sectional champ title.
This win put the Bulldogs wrestlers in the Group 2 semifinals in a match against Caldwell today (Friday).
So, TGIF cheers to a win!

Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) graduate, John Dennis Axt, passed away at his home in Tromball, TX on Dec. 27, after a long illness with cancer. He was 68.

The holidays. They’re something to sing about. And that’s exactly what the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) Tower Singers did over the weekend.
All festively dressed up with somewhere to go, the singers took their songs to the streets and other places in the area to serenade many and spread some holiday cheer. They do it every year.
This year, the Santa-hatted Tower Singers strolled and sang starting in the morning at St. George’s-by-the-River Episcopal Church in Rumson at the church’s Canterbury Christmas event. By about 11 a.m., they singers were on their way to Ce La Vi on Monmouth Street in Red Bank. No, they didn’t stroll all the way there, but … they did have some brunch — and a little bonding.
After brunch the Tower Singers did a caroling kind of stroll from the restaurant to Riverside Gardens Park on Front Street where they sang for the Red Bank Holiday Harmonies program at 1 p.m. And finally, the singers strolled to Broad Street to sing in front of the Red Bank Artists’ Collective, also for the Red Bank program.
Now that’s some holiday cheer with a song — or several! Cheers to the Tower Singers!

Football season at RFH is pretty sweet. Always has been. And it’s not just because of the game. It’s about those sideline hustles, too, like, for instance bake sales.
Yes, bake sales.
No, it wasn’t always just about football at game time back in the day — as if that wasn’t enough. Oh, as tradition has it, there were always lots of things happening before, during and after games, whether on the field, off the field, around the bend or, well, in the parking lot. Yes, the parking lot. That’s where some epic bake sales sweetened up game days — and sometimes spiced them up.
The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) Tower Players set to put the merry into Merry Men with their own brand of comedy in the fall production of Mary Lynn Dobson’s The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood. The show will run from Nov. 17 to 19.
