It’s official. More Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) student- athletes have signed letters of intent, committing to play and study at the colleges of their choice.

This time the signing is all about baseball, crew, lacrosse, tennis, soccer and field hockey.

In Memoriam: Longtime RFH Teacher, Counselor, Coach & Fair Havenite, Debby Connolly, 81

“We will remember Debby most for her sunny disposition, kind and gracious manner, and the positive influence she had on the lives of many people, young and old … The glass was always half-full with Debby and she always had a kind word for everyone. She was beautiful inside and out and always carried herself with beauty, grace, and elegance. She will be missed by many.”

Longtime Fair Havenite and Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School teacher, Deborah S. “Debby” Connolly, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 27, surrounded by family. She was 81.

Rooting RFH Icon George Giffin’s Memory

A tree grows in Giff’s honor.

That’s what is happening on the grounds of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) since a tree was planted on Saturday to honor iconic former science and ballroom dance teacher, Drill Team creator and leader, golf and basketball coach, mentor, and advisor George Giffin, known as “Giff.”

RFH Football Coach Honored as NY Jets High Coach of the Week

From the Jets in the Community newsletter via Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School …

Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) Football Coach Jerry Schulte has been named this week’s recipient of the New York Jets High School Coach of the Week.

With the designation comes a monetary award of $1000 to benefit the school’s football program. RFH, because of the award, will also receive an automatic bid to compete in the 2022 New York Jets 11-ON Tournament.

Remembering RFH Teacher Geoff Blake

Sporting a sweater vest, a head full of curls and an impish grin, plopped atop a desk and holding court is how many Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) grads remember longtime Social Studies teacher and advisor Geoff Blake.

It’s that image and plenty of lessons learned at his hands that RFHers hold tight in a cache of high school memories as they mourn the popular teacher who passed away at 74 on Oct. 10. He was being laid to rest today.

A reprise from Oct. 1, 2015 to give a little cheer on a dank day. A little tricks and treating among RFH loungers. Always an adventure of some sort at RFH … 

There was nothing quite like becoming a senior at RFH and being able to hang out in a special lounge just for you and your classmates, especially on a dismal October day.

Nothing was getting anyone down if they were senior lounging in the cozy RFH indoors. Of course, there was always something seniors were up to. Call it mod. Literally. 

Those were the days — in the 1970s.

The whole senior scene, in fact, was quite mod, or literally modular.

RFH Students Named Governor’s STEM Scholars

Two Rumson Fair Haven Regional High School juniors have been chosen as 2022 Governor’s STEM (Science, Technology, Energy and Mathematics) Scholars.

Juniors Sophia Dengler and Annette Kersten join 98 other New Jersey students from across twenty counties in this competitive, selective program with a 15 percent acceptance rate.
