Prosecutor: Former Area Teacher Pleads Guilty to Aggravated Sexual Assault of Student

A former area teacher has pleaded guilty to the aggravated sexual assault of one of her teen students, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced on Thursday. 

During a hearing held on Wednesday before Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Jill G. O’Malley, Allison Havemann-Niedrach, 45, of Jackson (Ocean County), a former teacher at Freehold Intermediate School, pleaded guilty to a charge of first-degree aggravated sexual assault.

An investigation involving MCPO Special Victims Bureau and Freehold Borough Police Department detectives revealed that the sexual assaults by Havemann-Niedrach began in January of 2024 and continued for approximately six months, prior to her arrest in June 2024. A Monmouth County Grand Jury then returned an indictment in the case in March 2025.

Sentencing in the case has been tentatively scheduled for Thursday, May 7, at which time the state intends to seek a 12-year term in state prison, forfeiture of public office, surrender of the defendant’s teacher’s license, parole supervision for life, and registration as a sex offender under Megan’s Law, with 85 percent of the sentence to be served before the possibility of parole under New Jersey’s No Early Release Act (NERA).
