In Memoriam: Rumson Resident, Postal Worker, Robert Anthony Fazzone, 78

Rumson resident, Robert Anthony Fazzone, affectionately known as “Uncle Bob” by his friends and family, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, at Arnold Walter Nursing Facility in Hazlet. He was 78.

Born in Red Bank, he had been a resident of Rumson for the past 20 years. He retired from the Rumson post office in 2009.

“As Robert Anthony departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Robert Anthony may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Robert Anthony leaves behind.”

Robert was predeceased by his wife, Cathy Stirnweiss Fazzone.

He is survived by: his brother, Samuel David Fazzone, and wife, Kim of Greenville, of SC; his only son, Michael Robert Fazzone, and wife, Valerie; his two grandchildren, Alexis and Patrick, all in Bayville; his step-son, Douglas Hughes, and wife, Dana; his step­-grandchildren, Mckayla, Tristan, and Colton, all of Shrewsbury; and his step-daughter, Kerry Lemske, her husband Greg, and step-grandchildren Jessica and Jared, all of Myrtle Beach, SC.

A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, June 16, from 4 to 6 p.m. at John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank.
