In Memoriam: Rumson-Raised RFH Grad, Longtime Red Bank Resident, F.J. Clifford Jr., 70

Rumson-raised Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) graduate Franklin Joseph “F.J.” Clifford, Jr., a longtime Red Bank resident, passed away on May 3. He was 70.

F.J. was born in Glen Ridge, the son of the late Ruth Reiss Barrett and Franklin Joseph Clifford, and grew up in Rumson. An RFH graduate, he later graduated from Regis University in Denver, CO.

“Frank was always on the go and known throughout the Red Bank area. He was employed for many years by the Reiss Corporation in Tinton Falls. Moreover, Frank was known for his volunteer work at several community organizations, including Monmouth, Riverview, and Jersey Shore University medical centers.

“He was commissioned as an extra-ordinary minister of Holy Communion by St. James Church and received the honors of the fourth degree of the Knights of Columbus.”

He is survived by: his sister, Carey Brittain, and her husband, Peter, of Atlantic Highlands; his brother, Gregory Clifford, and his wife, Teddy, of Fair Haven, his sister, Gretchen Hudson, and her husband, Robert, of Rye Beach, NH; seven nieces and nephews, and 12 grand-nieces and nephews.

Services will be private.
