In Memoriam: Rumson-Raised RFH ’76 Grad, Craig Widmaier, 64

Rumson-raised Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) Class of 1976 graduate Craig E. Widmaier, a 34-year Red Bank resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 21, at Riverview Medical Center. He was 64.

After graduating from RFH, Craig studied Industrial Engineering at TCNJ, graduating in 1981. 

Throughout his journey, he touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

In his professional life, Craig retired early as a successful quality assurance engineer from Becton Dickinson after more than 25 years of service. During his career, Craig traveled the world and collaborated on patents that progressed developments in medical science. 

Outside of work, Craig had many passions and interests. He enjoyed sailing and spending time at the beach on the sands of Sea Bright. He also loved listening to local music and playing drums. Craig also grew up as a waterfowl hunter where he would bond with his friends on the Shrewsbury River, and later in life enjoyed the sport with his son.

Craig is predeceased by: his parents, Arthur and Ruth Widmaier; his brother, Eric A. Widmaier; and his Aunt Carolyn Florence Wagner.

Craig is survived by: his two children, Lindsey and her husband Chip Nolan, of Lincroft, and Gregory, of Voorhees, “who he cherished and brought him great pride. Craig received a new granddaughter, Saylor Nolan, who brought him immense joy during his final months.” 

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service which will be held on Saturday, June 3, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.
