All of the votes have been counted now. It’s official. The Fair Haven Borough Council election winners remain the same as when the unofficial results came in on election night.
Numbers bumped up for all, Democrat Christina Malecki was still the top vote-getter, winning a final total of 1,577 votes. Republican Kevin Griffin garnering the next highest vote count with 1,554.
This changes the political make-up of council once the two new members take their seats at the dais in January. There will now be two Democrats, Michal DiMiceli and Malecki, on council with the remaining four Republicans.
Griffin and Malecki will replace outgoing one-term Republican council members Drew LaBarbera and Kristen Hoey. They will join current Borough Council President Betsy Koch, Tracy Cole, Brian Olsen and DiMiceli on the six-seat dais.
As for the remaining candidates’ final vote counts, Republican Joe Duva, Griffin’s running mate got 1,542 votes and Democrat Harold Baker, Malecki’s running mate, garnered 1,541.
