Prosecutor: Area Man Charged with Possession of Child Porn

An area man has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced on Monday.

John T. Curley, 61, of Howell, has been charged with one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child (possession of child sexual abuse materials).

An investigation into this matter was initiated by Howell police. Upon execution of search warrants, electronic devices which yielded multiple images of child sexual abuse materials were discovered.

Curley was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 24.

The state filed to detain the defendant until trial. The detention hearing is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 1.
