Rumson resident Monique Squeo-Bolsius, “a vibrant and beautiful 53-year old woman,” passed away on March 18 after a two-year battle with cancer.

Born to Philip and Lillian Squeo in Jersey City, NJ in 1966, Monique grew up in Teaneck and Alpine, where she attended Tenafly High School.

She continued her education at George Washington University, receiving a bachelor of arts degree and went on to get her master’s in education.

Monique started her career as a teacher and branched out as an entrepreneur and business owner, founding and operating King’s Wood Art in 2007, which sold, appraised, and consulted on fine art.

Monique is survived by: her devoted husband, Todd; her beloved children, Philip, 16, and Isabella, 13; and her sisters, Robyn, Tina and Nanci.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday (today) at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.

However, due to the current health crisis, please remember that no more than 50 people are allowed in the funeral home at any given time. Therefore, the funeral home would urge you to limit the amount of time you spend inside the funeral home so that others may enter and pay their respects. In addition, please make yourself aware of social distancing while in the funeral home.  

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, the funeral mass will be private and strictly limited to family.
