In Memoriam: Sea Bright Resident, Louise Golda, 96

Sea Bright resident Louise M. Golda passed away on Saturday, Sept. 3. She was 96.

“Louise was a long-time volunteer for Monmouth Medical Center, and was active with the Sea Bright Seniors. A devout Catholic, Louise faithfully attended Holy Cross RC Church in Rumson. Louise also enjoyed and was accomplished at crocheting, making many blankets, hats and scarves.”

Born in Harrison to Walter and Mary Zbyszewski, Louise was a graduate of Harrison High School and Drake Business College in Newark. A skilled secretary, clerk typist and medical transcriber, Louise worked throughout her life in printing, manufacturing and mostly in radiology for Dr. Mehmet Goklen and West Hudson Hospital, both in Kearny.

Louise is predeceased by: her husband of 42 years, Stephen Golda (1988); her parents, Walter and Mary Zbyszewski; and her brothers, Edward Zbyszewski, Joseph Szost and Edward Paciorek.

Louise is survived by: her four daughters, Carol (William) Chriss, Marie Golda, Elaine (David) Burns and Janice (Steve Burke) Golda; six grandchildren, Cheryl Sawyer, Stephen Chriss, Andrew Chriss, David Mellon, Rachael Burns and Jason Burns; six great-grandchildren, Ethan, Ellie, Liam, Katy, Will and Ben; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit Friday, Sept. 9, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, Sept.10, at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross RC Church, Rumson, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
