In Memoriam: Rumson Resident Carlos Guzman, 65

Rumson resident Carlos Guzman passed away on April 6. He was 65.

“Born in Jackson Heights, NY to Carlos and Margot (Fleiner) Guzman, Carlos attended Montclair University for one year, where he played football. He then transferred to and graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL to pursue his dream of becoming a trained pilot. Carlos loved sports, relaxing on the beach and travelling extensively with his family. Most recently he was employed in sales for Open Road Auto Group.”

Carlos was predeceased by his parents.

He leaves behind to cherish his life and memory: his wife of 42 years, Michelle Mackey Guzman; his beloved sons, Thomas and partner James Mack, of Florida, and Keith, of Rumson; his brother, Raymond, and wife, Mary Beth, of Rumson; his sisters, Marcella Guzman, of West New York, NJ, and Elizabeth Guzman-Luppi, of Cliffside Park; his sister-in-law, Reneé Vinciguerra, and husband, Dennis, of Bluffton, SC; his nieces, Kristy Pryer, and husband, Kyle, Danielle DePaul, and husband, Marc, Jacqueline Guzman; and nephews, Michael Guzman, Vincent Luppi and Craig Vinciguerra.

A funeral is set for 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, at Holy Cross RC Church, 30 Ward Ave., Rumson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carlos’ memory to The American Cancer Institute.
