Rumson resident, Barbara DeVito, formerly of Colts Neck, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 14. She was 88.
Born to Francis and Margaret Casey and raised in Jersey City, Barbara was one of five children.
“She worked for many years as a registered nurse and as the Colts Neck Court Clerk. She was a long-time parishioner of Holy Cross RC Church in Rumson.”

Barbara is predeceased by: her parents; her beloved husband of 45 years, Vincent J. DeVito (2002); her siblings, Dennis Casey and Bernice Duthaler; her sister-in-law, Fran Casey; and daughter-in law, Denise DeVito.
Barbara is survived by: her loving children, Michael J. DeVito, Mark A. DeVito and his wife Kathy; her cherished grandchildren, Alison (Karl) Pearson (and their children, Korbyn and Kasey), Conner DeVito, Scott Chinery, Jake DeVito, Catherine and Chelsea Chinery, Janie and Jesse DeVito; and her caring siblings, Robert and Peggy Casey.
Family and friends may visit Saturday, Feb. 21, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the John E. Day Funeral Home in Red Bank. A funeral mass will follow at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross RC Church in Rumson, followed by entombment at Holmdel Cemetery.
