In Memoriam: Rumson-Raised RFH Grad, U.S. Navy Vet, Clinton Vail Kuehl, 75

Rumson-raised Clinton Vail Kuehl, more recently of Shrewsbury, died on Jan. 11. He was 75.

A Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) graduate, Clinton served in the U.S. Navy for four years.

“With a curious mind and love of history he read extensively. Of particular interest to him was the American Civil War, its battles, and the strategies employed by its generals … He was a collector of vintage wines. Using his photographic memory of wine labels, he enjoyed visiting wine shops to find special bottles. He loved the hunt, and nothing made him happier than sharing a glass or two or three with family and friends. Clinton enjoyed relaxing and simultaneously stressing out while watching football and NASCAR races. He will be remembered for his goodness, kindness, sincerity, generosity, and sense of humor. All those who knew him loved him and he always returned that love.”
