In Memoriam: Red Bank Resident, Mary Trozzo, 89

Red Bank resident, Mary Trozzo, formerly of Astoria, Queens, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15. She was 89.

Born in Brooklyn, NY to Antonio and Assunta De Gioia, Mary was one of seven children. She grew up and lived in various parts of Long Island and Queens, ultimately settling in Astoria, Queens, and then living the last 16 years in Red Bank at the Atrium.

“In her early years, Mary loved being a hairdresser, then took a pause to raise her beloved daughters, and resumed her hair dressing passion once her daughters were grown, retiring when she moved to Red Bank. She deeply loved cooking and entertaining family and friends and was famous for her Italian Christmas cookies.
Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Tony, the greatest love of her life, in 2016 after 55 years of marriage.”

She is also predeceased by: her parents; and her six siblings, Lucy, Gus, Anthony, Delia, Anna and Nicoletta.

Mary is survived by: her two devoted daughters, Roseann Trozzo and husband Thomas P. Anguilla, and Marie DeStefano and husband Michael J.; her one and only cherished granddaughter, Julianna Marie DeStefano; and her precious grand dogs Sophie, Mia and Piper.
