In Memoriam: Longtime Little Silver Resident, Former Fair Haven Business Owner, Volunteer, Bernadette Eulner, 84

Fifty-four-year Little Silver resident, former Fair Haven antique furniture shop owner and founding member of Monmouth Day Care Center, Bernadette Eulner, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 28. She was 84.

“Bernadette was vibrant and loving, bouncy, fun and full of life and radiant with positive energy.

“A devoted wife and mother to her four sons, Bernadette was also passionate about her work and volunteerism at the Monmouth Day Care Center in Red Bank, where she was a founding member and served on the Board of Directors. She also owned and operated Encore, an antique furniture store in Fair Haven, was a member of the Junior League and was a long time parishioner of the Church of the Nativity in Fair Haven where she worked and
volunteered in many capacities.”

Born in Philadelphia to Eugene and Agnes McStravog, Bernadette was one of two children and grew up in the Overbrook section of the city. She attended West Catholic Girls High School and was a graduate of the West Chester State Teachers College in West Chester, PA.

Bernadette was pre-deceased by: her beloved husband of 56 years, Francis Joseph Eulner, in 2017; and, two cherished sons, Mark Eulner and Francis E. Eulner.

Bernadette is survived by: two loving sons, Paul Eulner, of Shrewsbury and Peter Eulner, of Little Silver; six beloved grandchildren, Weston, Evan, Mark, Michael, P.J. and Mathew; her caring sister, Maryellen Colman and husband Robert; her daughter-in-laws, Barbara Eulner and Kim Eulner; her nephew, Jonathan Colman; and her niece, Caitlin Colman.

Family and friends may attend Bernadette’s funeral mass on Tuesday, March 7, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven, followed by entombment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
