In Memoriam: Longtime Fair Havenite, Marie Wilkinson, 73

Longtime Fair Havenite Marie Francis Wilkinson “departed her earthly body on this journey of life” on March 6. She was 73.

Born in Casper, WY, the second of six children, her family moved several times in her younger years, with stints in Iowa, Minnesota and Georgia, before finally settling in NJ in 1968.

“Although her roots were midwestern, she definitely felt herself to be from New Jersey, and had called Fair Haven home since 1988.

“She would have said her most important role was as mother — she paused her career to care for her children in their early years, then resumed part time when they were older. She taught CCD at Church of the Nativity for many years, was a girl scout leader, soccer mom — but most importantly, was always there for her kids. Close behind was her role as wife. She was the anchor for her husband of 40 years, and very much the love of his life.

“She has left a huge hole for those who knew and loved her, and her memory will live on in them.”
