In Memoriam: Little Silver-Raised RBR Grad, Ryan Mason, 36

Little Silver-raised Red Bank Regional High School (RBR) graduate, Ryan Patrick Mason, of Red Bank, passed away peacefully on Oct. 9. He was 36.

Born in Red Bank to the late Ernest F. Mason and Patricia Hemingway Mason and raised in Little Silver, after graduation from RBR, Ryan graduated from The College of Charleston in South Carolina. 

“Ryan was owner and President of E.F. Mason Agency, Sea Bright. There he steadfastly treated his clients with the same high level of service and respect that his father Ernest did before turning over the reigns to him in 2018. He enjoyed traveling, golf, cruising on his Triumph Motorcycle and relaxing on the beach in Sea Bright. He also took pleasure in walking the beaches and trails with his beloved dog Maddie. An avid sports fan, he followed the Boston Red Sox, Celtics and his favorite the Pittsburgh Steelers.”

Ryan was predeceased by: his father, Ernest, in 2018; his mother, Patricia, in 2021; and brother, Shane, in 2021. 

He is survived by: his loving aunts, Kay Vilardi, of Little Silver, and Gail (James) Cullen, of Locust; uncles, Brian (Lisa) Mason, of Freehold, and Kevin Mason (Patty Pierce), of Howell; cousins, Brooks (Kelly) Cullen, Nicole Vilardi and Fredrica (Ernesto) Vilardi del Valle, all of Little Silver, Daniel (Erin) Mason, of PA and Andrew (Julia) Mason, of VA. 

A memorial mass will be held at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Red Bank on Friday, Oct. 13, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Ryan’s memory to the Monmouth County SPCA.
