In Memoriam: Former Longtime Rumsonite Paul Frieze, 89

Former longtime Rumsonite Paul Frieze passed away on Aug. 26. He was 89. 

“A renowned advertising production leader and creative force from the Mad Men era, Paul had a distinguished career spanning 50 years. He held executive vice president roles at top advertising and direct marketing agencies in New York City. In 2001, combining his business acumen and creativity, Paul founded his own firm, PBF Graphics Inc., serving as CEO.

“Paul, a sports enthusiast, was a hunter, ski instructor, tennis player, and avid golfer winning many tournaments, including his club championship. He was also an accomplished musician, playing the drums and the piano …

“In 1988, Paul married the love of his life, Lana Morris Frieze. They lived in Rumson for many years. They took pleasure spending their winters at their residence in West Palm Beach. Upon retirement, they moved to their beach residence in Monmouth Beach, enjoying life to the fullest together.”

A native New Yorker, Paul was born in the Bronx. He was a graduate of DeWitt Clinton High School and City College of New York. Paul was a U.S. Army veteran, having served honorably in Germany.

Funeral services were held at Temple Beth Miriam in Elberon on Friday, Aug. 29. Interment followed at Congregation B’nai Israel Cemetery in Tinton Falls. Shiva was held at The Admiralty, 55 Ocean Avenue, Monmouth Beach, on Friday from 4:30 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 3 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7:30.
