Fair Haven native, Trish Connor DePonti passed away peacefully after a long-fought illness on Aug. 4, surrounded by loved ones. She was 73.
“Trish left behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service to her family and community. Born and raised in Fair Haven, Trish was the beloved daughter of the late James and Dorothy Connor … A lifelong supporter of her hometown, Trish was a dedicated life member and past president of the Fair Haven Fire Company No. 1 Auxiliary, serving the organization faithfully for over 45 years. She was one of the Fair Haven Fire Company’s biggest supporters, especially when it came to the softball team, and was proudly recognized as the team’s Fan of the Year in 2008.

In 1982, Trish married the love of her life, Steven. Together they built a beautiful life and made their home in Red Bank, where they shared 43 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Trish devoted 34 years of public service as tax collector for the Borough of Eatontown, retiring in 2017.
“She took great pride in serving the residents of her community with professionalism, integrity, and kindness.”
Trish was predeceased by: her parents; and her brothers, James and John Connor.
Trish is survived by: her devoted husband, Steven DePonti; her loving sons, Steven and his wife, Krysta, and Matt and his wife, Stacie; her cherished grandchildren, Sam, Denny, Delaney, and Presley, who brought endless joy to her life; her sister, Dolores Morrissey; her brothers, Michael and Timothy Connor and their families; and extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held at the Thompson Memorial Home in Red Bank on Friday, Aug. 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. A mass of christian burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua in Red Bank on Saturday, Aug. 8, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Middletown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Trish’s memory to the Fair Haven Fire Company Auxiliary at 645 River Rd., Fair Haven, NJ 07704.
