In Memoriam: 60-Year Little Silver Resident, Marion Ryan

Longtime Little Silver resident, Marion Ryan, “transitioned into eternal life” at home on Aug. 4.

The 60-year Little Silver resident “was born in Phoenixville, PA and was a graduate of Radnor HS, where she was a member of the boys rifle team and a certified ‘Sharp Shooter.’ She moved to Red Bank to work for Bell Telephone Co. and met and married Edmund Ryan of Sea Bright. They raised five children, four of whom survive her. Marion enjoyed the beach, reading, country music, the NY Mets, and vacationing in Blue Mt. Lake NY.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.”

Marion was predeceased by: her husband, Edmund B. Ryan, in 1977; her son, Edmund B. Ryan Jr., in 2022; her parents, Alfred and Helen Reahm; her brother, Alf; and her sister, Catherine Lama.

She is survived by: her children, Suzanne Souto, Marianne Gillette (Robert), Karen Bonfield (Thomas), Christopher Ryan (Heather); her companion of many years, Robert Gray and their cat, Rosie; and her nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 13, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St, Red Bank. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Aug. 14. at 10:30 am at St. James Church, 94 Broad St, Red Bank. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
