A Thursday afternoon fatal three-vehicle accident is under investigation, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced on Friday.

Shortly after 5:20 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, Wall Township police responded to the area of Route 70 and Morningstar Road on a report of a collision. There, first responders found the three involved vehicles.

All three drivers were transported to area hospitals for treatment of injuries. One of them, a female from Brick Township whose identity is being withheld pending thorough notification of friends and family, was pronounced dead at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. 

No criminal charges or summonses connected to this matter have been filed, as of this writing.  

An investigation being led by members of the Wall Township Police Department, Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART), and the Prosecutor’s Office remains ongoing.
